Large Scale Collaboration Center
Large Scale Collaboration Center
It will combine science and computing expertise from across the lab and other user facilities and involve the construction of a new facility on SLAC’s campus.
Keep reading to understand the project’s purpose and find related subcontract opportunities.
The LSCC Project includes the design and construction of a new science collaboration facility.
It will be centrally located and within walking distance of supported science user facilities.
The building will accommodate 100 to 150 staff, with collaboration spaces and team rooms for SLAC users and visitors.
The new LSCC facility will bring science collaboration, computing, and data analytics together to meet new experimental demands in a central location while maintaining close access to the adjacent SLAC Science Quad. Once constructed, it will:
- House a collaboration hub for SLAC science and computational science staff.
- Provide a visualization room to use advanced visualization tools.
- Provide office support space to centralize SLAC personnel.
LSCC is a project directly funded by the Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science.
LSCC Opportunities
LSCC received DOE Critical Decision 1 (CD-1) approval in November 2019. SLAC Procurement is preparing a re-solicitation for 2024.
Requirements
The LSCC Project involves the construction of a new facility on SLAC’s campus. The work also includes all associated infrastructure, utilities, and site work.
