Join the CUIR project team for an Industry Day at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory.
Representatives from the Critical Utilities Infrastructure Revitalization (CUIR) project team will be providing information on Subproject 1 – Critical Electrical System Improvements upcoming opportunities. This is an opportunity for General Contractors and sub-tiers to learn about the upcoming Design-Bid-Build solicitations for Subproject 1 coming out from the end of 2026 to 2027. The CUIR Subproject 1 Industry Day is planned for October 7th 2026, from 8:30 am to 11:30 am PST.
The CUIR Subproject 1 Industry Day will include:
- An overview of the master CUIR project
- Scopes and details of the two upcoming procurement opportunities, including a substation building expansion and installation of large 230kV Transformers
- Understanding what it is like to work at SLAC as compared to the outside world
- Success stories and Lessons Learned from recently completed packages
- Procurement overview
- Networking opportunities between GCs and Sub-tiers
This CUIR Subproject 1 Industry Day will be conducted in a hybrid format. Interested vendors should register by September 21, 2026, at 10:00am PST. Requests to register submitted after September 21, 2026 might not be accommodated.
About The CUIR Project
The CUIR project aims to modernize SLAC’s utilities infrastructure. Many of these original systems were installed in the 1960s, when the laboratory was first built, and were not designed to support the experimental parameters needed for scientific research today and in the future.
